Cathera Bundren is the first ever female Mayor of the Village of Alamance. She was first elected Mayor in 2003 and is currently in her third term. She has served on the Board of Aldermen since 1991. Mayor Bundren is retired from State Government where she served as a Budget Officer, Human Resource Director, and Dean of Students at the Schools for the Deaf and as a Grants Manager for the Division of Pediatrics in Chapel Hill. She is now a Broker with Morton & Sharpe Commercial Development as the property manager for many of the shopping centers here in the Burlington area. She is the wife of Ronnie, the mother of a son, Jamie and a daughter, Beth and the grandmother of Ally, Megan, and Ethan, her first loves. Her second love is Alamance, to which she gives her best.

Naydine Sharpe is the Mayor Pro-Tem and was first elected to the Board in 2003. She was appointed Mayor Pro-Tem in 2005 and serves as the Public Safety Commissioner. She was the Village's first clerk and served from 1979-2002. She served as secretary for Alamance Lutheran Church for 42 years, was co-founder of the Alamance County Linedancers, and founder of Alamance Golden Agers. She currently volunteers at the Hospice Clothing Store where she is a manager.  She is married to Grant Sharpe and has two children, four grandchildren, and one great grandson.

Davis Gregory was elected to the Board of Alderman in 2011. He currently Serves as the Planning Commissioner. He is an Alamance County native and has lived in the Village for 12 years. He has been married to his wife Jennifer for 17 years and they have three children, Luke who is 14, Austin who is 11, and Laci who is 7.




Myra Slaughter was elected to the Board 2009. She currently serves as the Community Development Commissioner.



Chris Clemmons was appointed to the Board of Alderman in 2005 and was elected to a full term in 2007.He currently serves as Finance Commissioner for the Village.


Donald Tichy was first elected to the Board in 2009. He currently serves as Street Commissioner.




Barry Crouse was elected to the Board in 2007. He previously served on the Board from 1991 to 1999. He currently serves as Utilities Commissioner.
