Land Use Plan

The purpose of the land use plan is to be an advisory document designed to give guidance to public officials for making informed decisions on land development and public improvements. The plan will provide the private sector with a reasonable level of expectations and assurances of local support for specific development proposals. All growth and development related decisions should be made in the context of consistency with the goals, objectives, policies, and future land use plan. The benefits of the land use plan are that:

  • It conveys a vision of the community in 15 to 20 years.
  • It is a reference for public and private decision-makers.
  • It presents a comprehensive strategy to shape the community’s future.
  • It provides a rational framework for public policy and private investment.
  • It coordinates development decisions with community goals.
  • It allows the village to balance the need for development with the need to protect local natural, physical,
    and financial resources.

Capital Improvement Plan

The 2024 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the Village of Alamance outlines strategic investments aimed at enhancing the community’s infrastructure and quality of life.  By allocating resources efficiently and prioritizing projects that address immediate needs while laying the groundwork for long-term sustainability, the CIP aims to foster a thriving environment where residents can thrive and businesses can prosper.
