Present: Mayor Tichy, Mayor Pro Tem Isley, Alderman Crouse, Alderman Hunt Alderman Andrews, Alderman Tichy, Alderman Cheap
Invocation and call to order given by Mark Reich
Motion to approve agenda made by Alderman Cheap, seconded by Alderman Tichy. Motion carries 6-0
Motion made to approve November 27th, 2023 meeting minutes by Alderman Andrews, seconded by Alderman Tichy. Motion carries 6-0
Mr. Farmerie swore in Mayor Donald Tichy, Mayor Pro Tem Timothy Isley, Alderman Daniel Tichy, and Alderman Barry Crouse.
There were no comments.
Mr. Reich said the Cardinal Ln outfall project was complete and a reimbursement request had been sent to DWI for $315,000. There will be a slight delay in getting the money back as DWI is implementing a new software system and will be unable to process requests for a minimum of 30 days. There are no updates on the Dogwood water project or AIA grants. Mr. Reich said he would begin estimating costs of a sidewalk extension from Cabin Rd to Birch Ln. He told the board that discussions with The City of Burlington were needed to update the water and sewer agreements.
Mr. Allred said the pump stations were running well. The Birch and NC 62 stations had yearly servicing completed. November THM samples were good. There has been no response from the State yet on the sewer leak last month.
Approval of 2024 Regular Meeting Dates
Mr. Farmerie showed the audience the proposed meeting dates for 2024. There was no discussion. A motion was made by Alderman Tichy to approve the meeting dates, seconded by Alderman Crouse. Motion carries 6-0
Amendment to ARP Grant Project Ordinance
Mr. Farmerie explained that the ARP money would be more flexible to use when it is transferred to the Village instead of delegating it to different projects.
A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Isley to accept the budget amendment, seconded by Alderman Tichy. Motion carries 6-0
Mr. Farmerie said he had been in contact with one of the property owners of Alamance Baptist loop. He wanted to discuss things with his wife, and he will be back in touch. Mr. Farmerie said he hopes to have a firmer estimate on the Dogwood project after the budget retreat in February.
Mayor Tichy presented Clerk Folwell and Mr. Farmerie with holiday cards and thanked the administration for their work over the year.
Alderman Cheap made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Alderman Crouse. Motion carries 6-0
