VILLAGE OF ALAMANCE

Planning Board Meeting

May 15th, 2024 6:00 p.m.

Attending: Chuck Couch, Keith Miller, Tim Collins, John Paseman, Gerald Walters, Roy Glasgow, and Lorraine Ryan.

Absent: Sherry Ford and Jeff Sharpe

Ken Cass is the newest member, and he attended the meeting and introduced himself.

Invocation and Call to Order

Gerald Walters called the meeting to order.

  Approval of July 24^th, 2023 meeting minutes

A motion was made to accept the minutes by Tim Collins, seconded by Lorraine Ryan. Motion carries 6-0

4512 Alamance Baptist Loop Rd. Burlington, NC 27215-Variance Request

Mr. Farmerie explained that the Village buying the strips of land to create the necessary right of way on the road has caused the building on this property to be out of compliance with the zoning ordinance. The board briefly discussed the reasons for creating the right of way. This issue has been raised before and it is needed for public safety. The board agreed that the variance meets the requirements to be granted.

A motion was made by Mr. Miller to grant the variance, seconded by Mr. Collins. Motion carries 6-0
